DC Comics has released some new covers that include a complete image of the newly-redesigned Joker on a Batgirl cover. The release was either a mistake or a leak, but either way designer Greg Capullo was not happy. He did say, however, that the image above is quite mild compared to what we will see of the new Joker in Batman #13, due out October 10th. Here’s what he had to say on twitter: The fact is, the way Scott [Snyder] and I will give you the Joker may have been too much for some with out this diluted sample hitting the web… So, even if you do see the leak, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Trust me. I’m still not going to reveal my sketches. I won’t let this incident blow the whole works. Be patient. Terror is heading your way. This episode of Batman: The Animated Series, called “P.O.V.”, made me ship Batman/Officer Montoya. Amazing episode, but I have to say that Officer Montoya ruined it by being all nice to scumbag Bullock who almost got her fired.

The issue comes out on Thursday, but here is an excerpt (thanks to Batman-News.com): Our story picks up eight years after The Dark Knight. In terms of finishing our story and increasing its scope, we were trying to craft an epic. It’s really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne’s story. We left him in a very precarious place… he’s an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state. With our choice of villain and with our choice of story we are testing Batman both physically as well as mentally. Yup. The 8 years certainly caught me off guard.
